How to measure your curtains
Define the look
Textiles influence the character of a room, and our curtains can contribute anything from minimalist elegance to a more dramatic or playful expression. Much like a well-tailored suit, it all comes down to proportion, material and fit.
Curtain length plays an important role in the overall impression. A shorter curtain can create a neat and understated look, while a longer curtain adds softness and a more dramatic feel. For curtains hanging from the ceiling down to the floor, we recommend allowing them to float approximately 1β2 cm above the floor. This creates a beautiful drape that allows the texture and qualities of the fabric to come through, while giving the curtain an elegant finish.Choose the right curtain track
The curtains in the Line & Square Collection are made with sewn-in gliders attached to a narrow heading tape at the top. This allows the curtains to be gathered into pleats or hung completely flat. Choosing a compatible track is important to ensure that the curtain functions properly and hangs as intended. We recommend a ceiling-mounted U-shaped curtain track. Keep the following in mind when choosing your track:Track type: Choose a ceiling-mounted U-shaped curtain track.Track opening: Choose a track with a wide channel and an opening of approximately 6.5β7.5 cm, allowing the sewn-in gliders to fit and move smoothly along the track.Check the dimensions: Tracks vary in design and dimensions. Always confirm the measurements with the retailer before purchasing.
If you are unsure whether a track is compatible with your curtains, please feel free to contact us before placing your order.
Calculate the finished height
Measure the distance from the floor to the underside of the curtain track using a tape measure or laser measure. Take measurements at several points, as floors and ceilings may be uneven. Always use the shortest measurement.Subtract 3 cm from your measurement to calculate the finished height β the measurement you enter when ordering your curtains. This allowance accounts for the sewn-in gliders and ensures that the curtain floats approximately 1β2 cm above the floor.Example: If the distance from the floor to the track is 300 cm, the finished height will be 297 cm.Please note: As our curtains are made to measure and produced according to your specifications, they are exempt from the statutory right of withdrawal for distance purchases under applicable consumer law. Please check your measurements carefully before placing your order.Need help with measuring or installation? Feel free to get in touch β weβre happy to help.
Care Guide
With the right care, your textiles can maintain their colour, texture and beautiful feel over time. A few simple routines will help keep your pieces looking their best.
Steam & Refresh
Curtains may develop creases during transport. Once unpacked, hang them up and gently steam the fabric using a handheld steamer to smooth out creases and restore its natural drape. Allow the curtains to hang freely while drying.
Handheld steamers are available in a wide range of price points, making it easy to find one that suits your needs. Always check that steaming is suitable for the specific fabric, and avoid steaming cushion inserts.Treat Stains
If a small stain occurs, treat the affected area as soon as possible rather than cleaning the entire piece.
Gently dab the area with a clean, white cloth lightly dampened with water. A suitable, gentle cleaning wipe may also be used, provided it is safe for the fabric and free from harsh cleaning agents. Avoid rubbing, as this may affect the fabric's texture or appearance. Allow the area to dry completely.
Always test your cleaning method on a discreet area first.Everyday Care
Over time, dust and loose particles may accumulate on your textiles. Gently remove them with a lint roller, using light strokes and avoiding too much pressure against the fabric.Professional Cleaning
For stubborn stains or heavier soiling, we recommend consulting a professional cleaner experienced in the specific fabric and type of stain. For cushions, check whether the advice applies to the removable cover or the inner cushion. What to Avoid
We recommend avoiding machine washing, as it may cause textiles to shrink, lose their shape or change in appearance. Always check the care requirements for the specific fabric before attempting any cleaning method.
